Who the course is for
This course is for anyone needing to update their volunteer management practices and wants to understand how good practice keeps you within the law.
Please note this training is not taught by a lawyer so the trainer will not be in a position to address specific legal issues.

Course Content:
Volunteer management and Employment Law
Diversity and equality – using good practice to keep within the law whilst finding the right volunteers for you
Health and Safety, insurance and out of pocket expenses. What does the law state and what is good practice?
GDPR – How to keep in line with legislation when volunteers are dealing with people’s data.
Learning Outcomes:
By completing this training you will:
Have an understanding of employment law and how to avoid it around volunteering
Know how to recruit volunteers in line with equality and diversity
Understand the difference between legal requirements and good practice
Understand of GDPR and the impact on volunteers.
About the Trainer:
Kat Shepherdson has led #TeamHerts Volunteering since it started, supporting organisations with volunteer management and recruitment. Her experience as a volunteer and volunteer manager gives her a well-rounded view on the topic.
