Greg Ramsden SWAc, painter and printmaker, trained at Sheffield University (2000 - 2003) and has since exhibited extensively locally.
In 2011 Greg became one of the South West Academy of Fine Arts youngest academicians,
to be swiftly followed with a residency at Cove’s Quay Gallery in Salcombe.
Greg is deeply interested in geology and the natural environment.
In his paintings, intricate surface texture and subtle layering reveal direct experience of natural land-based environments,
including fields, rivers, forests, coasts, estuaries, caves and moorlands.
Intense observation combines with remembered moments and sensations, and out of this pool his paintings emerge.
This body of work consists of large mixed media canvases exploring the unity of humankind with the land,
and the rhythm and relationships that exist between them.
