HANDS launches at Seale-Hayne
On a wet and windy Saturday the bright rays of optimism were shining through the gloom at Hannah's at Seale-Hayne as the artists, designers, and makers - known collectively as HANDS - celebrated their launch.
Appropriately, there was a ceremonial cutting of the cake, the first output of artist & jeweller Rachel Jennings' new oven. The consensus was that it was a huge success and was greatly enjoyed by HANDS members and also by visitors to the main gallery at Seale-Hayne. Someone said, in broad Devonian, that it was "'ANDSome!"
The launch also featured an excellent raffle of work donated by HANDS members. 50% of the proceeds will go to the Dame Hannah Rogers Trust who run Seale-Hayne, the rest will help to defray the cost of the launch.
So we're all hoping for better weather on Sunday, but spare a thought for the couple who were celebrating their wedding at Seale-Hayne today!
