ERFF 2017 :Ashley Thorpe & the British Gothic Horror Revival

Director, writer, illustrator and animator Ashley Thorpe of Carrion Films has been celebrating the neglected aspects of British folklore and British Gothic through deliciously terrifying animation for over 10 years. In this interactive Q&A session, Ashley will be presenting his varied works, screening titles & clips from the award winning Scayrecrows, The Screaming Skull, The Hairy Hands, the opening titles of Miramax's Tales of Halloween as well as giving exclusive preview footage from his most recent title Borley Rectory starring Reece Shearsmith (Inside No.9, The League of Gentlemen) and Julian Sands (The Killing Fields, A Room with a View).
Ashley will reveal the tricks of the trade and answer questions on animation technique, developing stories for the screen and what it is like to work as an animator in the industry, both locally and further afield.
