What's Mine is (Y)ours? Tangification Sessions 'Destruction'
An open invitation to local artists and participants to create performance together, musing on the subjects of marginalisation, participation and intangible cultural heritage.
The What's Mine is (Y)ours? exhibition is a process driven, interactive community platform in which to connect with others and explore trauma, marginalisation, intangible cultural heritage and copyright. It is an opportunity to co-create a piece of living, transforming cultural heritage. Be part of something that’s changing and ephemeral at the intersection of performance, arts and research.
In these tangification sessions, we will look at performance as a form of intangible cultural heritage and in response to the exhibition themes. We will experiment with ways to capture the performance digitally for inclusion in Samantha’s project blog, and, with the performers, explore copyright, and ownership in relation to this.
Please be aware that photo, video and audio recording will take place in this session. If you would like to bring recording or editing equipment with you, please contact s.wraith@exeter.ac.uk to arrange.
In her residency, Samantha has been focussing on marginalised communities and practices, with ‘cultural trauma’ as a metaphorical and artistic lens, inspired by research at the University. This event is co-created with Amerie Rose of Encounter Theatre and Therapy.
The Performance Tangification Sessions will be two 2-day workshops, 'Creation' on 8 and 9 June 2016 and 'Destruction' on 21 and 22 June.
