The Ella Dawson Foundation is a registered charity providing psychological, physical, nutritional, wellbeing and social support to young adults with cancer, aged 18-30 years along with their families.

The charity was launched in 2022 as a legacy to 24 year old local artist, Ella Dawson, who sadly died in July 2021, aged 24 years old, after a 2 year battle with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.

Ella would never be defined by cancer and believed passionately that, with good emotional, physical and wellbeing support, it was possible to live well, with purpose and gratitude despite cancer. And that she did.

During her 2 year treatment pathway, Ella launched her own art business, opened her own studio in the Colne valley, worked with blood cancer charities to raise awareness and set about creating a wellbeing blue print to help other young people with cancer like her.

In Ella's words ' I just want to show that all is not lost when you are a young person with cancer. I want to out something out there that I am missing'

Ella's work continues in the Ella Dawson Foundation, a charity with a big heart and even bigger ambition to make a difference to the lives of young adults with cancer.
