PERFECT SUNSET ON THE TEIGN ESTUARY

SUNSET - MUD INLET, NETHERTON, TEIGN ESTUARY - taken at 8.55pm on the 29th May 2012. It was very warm, 18 degrees, and very still, not a breath of wind. I knew this location would be quiet and so it proved. I have never seen so many little grey egrets and grey cranes in such a small area. Positioned above the winding stream of the mud inlet I watched the sun slowly sinking behind the hills of Dart...moor, as I was also joined by all manor of wading birds and swans. Behind me there was a rookery (with plenty going on) and a lush green field with cows grazing before bedtime. This was one of the most memorable shoots for all the above, plus the fact that I knew I was walking back to the car with a camera full of nice pictures.
