Art & The Brain: Peter Randall-page & Semir Zeki 28 July
Dartmoor Arts Project presents Peter Randall-Page discussing Art & the Brain with Semir Zeki, Professor of Neuroesthetics at UCL. 28 July, 8pm.
Peter Randall-Page is an artist who has gained an international reputation through his sculpture drawings and prints. He has undertaken numerous large scale commissions and exhibited widely. His work is held in public and private collections throughout the world and a selection of his public sculptures can be found in many urban and rural locations throughout the UK. He is represented in the permanent collections of the Tate Gallery and the British Museum amongst others. Professor Semir Zeki has written four books: A Vision of the Brain; Inner Vision: an exploration of art and the brain ; La Quête de l’essentiel (with the late French painter Balthus) and Splendours and Miseries of the Brain. His main interest is the organization of the primate visual brain.
This event is part of a week-long series of artists talks and lectures open to the public during Dartmoor Arts Project Summer School 24-30 July 2011. Venue: The Drewe Arms Drewsteignton, EX6 6QN.
