D M Hemming Novelist / Poet / Knitwear Designer / Textile Artist
Dawn's unpublished novels have been both short and long-listed for novel awards since 1999. She is currently looking for an agent and publisher for her work, including a children's Fantasy novel; 'Shading Jenny' and a SciFi novel; 'Everybodies'. Her poetry has been published in magazines, poetry collections and also read on local radio and performed at literature festivals.
She is available to lead creative writing workshops in poetry, fiction and non-fiction across the North of England for any age groups.
She currently has 3 poetry books in print:
'Shuddersfield' - collection of poetry, prose and photographs about Huddersfield town centre - SOLD OUT.
'Grog Inn' - a fantasy about Heaven & Hell and one mortal man caught between the two.
'Thread Theory' - a rich weave that describes our relationship with texture, first performed at Huddersfield Literature Festival 2013.
She also has a non-fiction book called: 'The Anti-Definitionary' - over 2,000 new words that defy description, an excellent resource with writing exercises for those who love to play with words.

When not creating, Dawn works full time as a Project Assistant (Recycling) at Kirklees Council and enjoys dancing with a Goth/Border morris side called 'Thieving Magpie' who are based in Marsden. She also acts as their resident poet/little bleeder.
