Rear View at Batley Festival
Creative Scene presents a show by IOU
Various times - Book online from July
THE YORKSHIRE PREMIERE AND ONLY YORKSHIRE 2017 DATE OF THIS NEW WORK FROM HALIFAX BASED IOU.
A mystery tour, with live performance for all, aboard a custom-made double decker bus.
The streets become the stage as you are invited aboard IOU’s custom-made open top bus for an unforgettable journey around Batley. Hop on board for a fun-filled exploration of our West Yorkshire town. Audiences can expect some unexpected and unusual locations as well as enjoying the journey.
Blurring reality and fiction Rear View will take you on a moving adventure of a woman’s life told by poets Cecilia Knapp and Jemima Foxtrot.
‘If at 65 you could say something to yourself at 23, what would it be?’
The bus is a 1989 Volvo B10M mid-engined city bus and now has a grandstand-like seating arrangement with seats facing the back of the bus, giving passengers a clear view. The bus is fully accessible and has been constructed by Calderdale Engineering and Martin Pickwell and Peter Arnold at IOU’s creation space in Halifax.
There is a platform lift for wheelchair use, or for those unable to use steps. There will also be provision for people with sight or hearing impairment.
The trips take place over the weekend of the Batley Festival on Friday, Saturday (festival day) and Sunday.
Tickets: £4 adults / £2 children.
Tickets on sale online in July or on the day outside Batley Library.
