I Am No Bird
I Am No Bird
Cleckheaton Library, Saturday 7 March, 1-3pm
What to be part of a creative writing workshop about the Brontë sisters?
Award-winning theatremaker, musician and performer, Sophia Hatfield, along with Stute Theatre and Brontë Parsonage Museum, is currently working on a new show about the lives and works of Charlotte, Emily and Anne Brontë.
As part of their early development work for this exciting new show, they are running a series of creative writing workshops to explore these three remarkable female writers and what their work means to us today. The workshop will also explore what it means to be a creative woman today.
You don’t need any knowledge of the Brontë sisters to attend the workshop, nor do you need any experience of creative writing. The workshop is open to all.
Expect an interesting discussion about female creativity, a chance to learn how a new piece of theatre is made and a chance to create, hear and perform original poetry – all in a friendly, fun and creative environment.
All workshop participants that have signed up by Monday 24 February will be invited to a free rehearsed reading of the new play at Brontë Parsonage Museum, Haworth, on Saturday 29 February.
