What is the Creative Industries iNet?
What is the Creative Industries iNet?
From advertising to fashion, or television to digital design, the Creative Industries umbrella encompasses a wide range of growing industries. These vital, knowledge-based businesses help drive our country forwards, contributing £60 billion - or 6.2% - to the economy every year.
In the South West, this diverse sector employs almost 40,000 people in nearly 9,000 businesses. But spread across a large geographical area and often operating on a small scale, many creative companies find it hard to access the cutting edge knowledge that helps them to grow, innovate and compete on the global stage.
That’s why we’ve developed the Creative Industries iNet; a £3.2 million programme of support that will run until 2013, to help the sector thrive and advance the region’s growing reputation as a global creative hotspot.
This vital project will work with innovative firms new and old, to develop bold products and business models, explore new opportunities and ideas, and connect to a community of innovators across the region and across the world.
iNet will support projects working in three main areas. We want to help South West creative businesses to:
Catalyse innovation
Share knowledge
Connect and export
