Visitor Assistant, Surveys, Tate Gallery
Tate St Ives encourages a greater understanding and enjoyment of modern and contemporary art in the unique cultural context of St Ives while also managing the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden. Following a major project the extended Tate St Ives reopens to the public on 31 March 2017 and in Autumn 2017 we open our brand new gallery space, dedicated Learning area and new displays.
We’re proud of the service we provide to our visitors, but we’re keen to gather information about visitors’ experiences and their visiting habits to museums and galleries to enrich the service further. And that’s where you come in.
A friendly and professional presence within the gallery, you’ll invite visitors to undertake iPad surveys with you and then upload completed surveys. Comfortable working to set targets, you’ll also seek out ways to improve the survey process. It’s a chance to broaden your experience and knowledge as full training will be provided, plus we will expect you to update your knowledge of our exhibitions and activities.
Passionate about ensuring an excellent visitor experience and outgoing and confident in approaching visitors, you’ll have the flexibility to vary your working days and hours to suit the seasonal nature of our audiences’ visits. It’s likely you’re currently working in a customer service environment. Your methodical and accurate approach to inputting information will ideally be matched by the ability to enthuse about 20th century art.
Hours for this post are: 10 hours per week 1 April - 31 October and 7 hours per week 1 November - 31 March.
