Talent Development Producer, Theatre Royal Plymouth

The Talent Development Producer will work across Engagement and Learning programmes and alongside our artistic programme playing a critical role in developing talent across the theatre. This will include cultivation of local artists, relationship building with The Plymouth Conservatoire, programming the Lab, producing The Lab Company, PlayLAB, IdeasLAB and various other existing strands ensuring that Theatre Royal Plymouth’s Talent Development programme is clearly articulated locally, regionally and nationally.

The Role

Here is an overview of what you would be doing:

Work with Director of Engagement and Learning and in collaboration with colleagues to produce and manage our current talent development programmes bringing all under one banner (including IdeasLAB, PlayLAB, The Lab Company, The Plymouth Conservatoire, programming the LAB)
Work with the Engagement Manager, Head of Learning and the Director of Engagement and Learning to ensure the talent development programme links to other produced programmes
Work closely with colleagues in all departments, as appropriate, across the organisation developing further programme strands that meet the talent development brief
Ensure that talent development is firmly embedded within Theatre Royal Plymouth and is communicated effectively across the Theatre and externally through collaboration with the Media and Communications and Marketing departments
Be the main point of contact for early career artists (face to face and online) and for those on talent development programmes, supporting all visiting early career artists/companies
Recruit, contract and manage all freelancers, artists and companies associated with the talent development programme
Support and train participants from across all programmes to enable them to plan and deliver their own projects
Manage all budgets associated with the various strands of the programme, liaising with the Director of Engagement and Learning
Seek out funding opportunities for the talent development programme
Maintain a knowledge of local talent and understand the regional and national picture in the talent development sector
