Holiday Arts Club Manager, Creative Kids
The position is offered as: Fixed Fee, part-time contract, £2,480 paid on completion.
Details of Hours / Contract Length: The post holder will be working a 47.5-hour week (8:15 – 17:45 Monday – Friday) from Monday 25th July until Friday 2nd September including an unpaid training/orientation morning on Saturday 23rd July. Candidates must be professional freelancers (UTR number required) with Public Liability Insurance + current DBS*
EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION
Education to Degree level or equivalent in the arts or creative industries.
Level 3 Childcare or Core Skills and Common Knowledge Certificate.
Experience of working in an Ofsted regulated setting.
Current First Aid Certificate (child specific).
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of working with a range of artists and art forms.
In depth knowledge of the arts and cultural contemporary practice.
Understanding of the delivery of The Arts Award.
Knowledge of using iPads and apps in a classroom setting.
Experience working in the arts with children.
Working within a creative space to plan, prioritise and complete work under pressure, unsupervised and with conflicting demands.
Proven ability to think creatively and to translate policies into practical action.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To ensure exceptionally high standards of delivery are maintained
2. To support the staff and visiting artists to ensure the program is delivered in line with the creative vision.
3. To lead groups of children in the timetabled activities ensuring that children’s communication needs are met and that all children and young people are encouraged to participate.
4. To record and report incidents or accidents to the Program Manager.
5. To assist with basic first aid and to follow medical emergencies procedures.
6. To use ‘My Play Service’ online booking system and help parents book and pay online.
7. To ensure compliance with Creative Kids policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment at all times and use specialist knowledge to ensure compliance in a variety of complex situations.
8. To undertake any other duties as required by the Program Manager.
