Head of Operations, Turner Sims, Southampton

Turner Sims is one of the major music venues in the South of England. Based on the University of Southampton’s Highfield campus, each year it presents a 70-concert series featuring internationally renowned artists and a learning and participation programme which reaches thousands of people. In addition it hosts a wide range of other events including performances by local groups, commercial recording sessions, lectures, conferences, and seminars.

We are looking to appoint a new Head of Operations, who will manage the day to day running of Turner Sims, leading on increasing the efficiency of the operating model, and overseeing the quality and provision of service to customers and clients. The successful applicant will support the Concert Hall Manager and Strategic Board with the ongoing development and future success of Turner Sims including: public engagement, delivery of new projects, outreach activity, extending Turner Sims’ digital reach, and venue promotion.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a senior role within a professional arts/music environment. You will be innovative and ambitious, with a keen interest in music and detailed knowledge of running venues. You will have exceptional organisational, interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills, and have experience of leading teams.
