Creative Europe - Grants
The Creative Europe Culture sub-programme is an excellent opportunity for the arts and culture sector and, alongside the excellent support offered by the UK Creative Europe Desk, Euclid continues to help many organisations with their applications to the Culture sub-programme – you can read testimonials from those we have recently helped on www.euclid.info/testimonials.
However, there are other EU programmes where the application process is much easier – for example, much looser requirements for match funding, and no requirement for detailed budgets. These programmes are Erasmus+ and Europe for Citizens – and both have deadlines in February-April 2016. Erasmus+ focuses on education, training and young people (aged 13-30) and provides small-scale mobility grants alongside project grants. Europe for Citizens also provides mobility and project grants, and is focused on European goals of tolerance and understanding, and on stimulating participation in the democratic process in the European context.
The UK will be having a referendum on EU membership before the end of 2017. Europe for Citizens also provides a specific opportunity to undertake projects which would seek to more actively engage citizens in discussion and debate around the pros and cons of EU membership. The March 2016 deadline for this programme is really the only opportunity to submit an application focusing on this area.
To help you understand these programmes, and to help you develop potential applications, Euclid is running 5 afternoon workshops from 18-28 January 2016:
• 18 January – London (FreeWord Centre, EC1R 3GA)
• 20 January – Manchester (Arts Council England, M1 1FN)
• 21 January – Bristol (Colston Hall, BS1 5AR)
• 26 January – Leeds (West Yorkshire Playhouse, LS2 7UP)
• 28 January – Birmingham (CBSO Centre, B1 2LF)
These seminars will be presented by Geoffrey Brown and Giles Agis. Geoffrey Brown is Director of Euclid, and is the UK’s leading independent expert for EU funding for arts and culture – and Euclid was the official UK Contact Point for the Europe for Citizens programme from 2007-8. Giles Agis is Director of Brouhaha International, one of the most successful UK applicants for EU funding, especially to the4 Creative Europe and Erasmus+ programmes and their predecessors – Brouhaha has received more than 60 EU grants in the last 10 years.
All seminars will run from 2pm to 4.30pm, with registration and refreshments from 1.30pm.
The delegate fee for these seminars is £70 – and just £30 for Connexus members. Connexus membership is £25 per annum, and you can join at www.culture.info.
Note that Connexus members are also currently eligible to have a free listing in the forthcoming Creative Partners directory, which will be made available at the European Culture Forum in Brussels at the end of November (the deadline for inclusion in this directory is Monday 16 November 2015).
