Communications and Marketing Officer, Libraries Unlimited
We are recruiting for a part-time Communications & Marketing Officer, working 3 -4 days pw, who will play a central role in our organisation. Salary c. £30k p.a. pro rata.
Libraries Unlimited is a social enterprise, awaiting charitable status, owned by our staff and our communities, currently running libraries in Devon, England. We believe in the unlimited potential of library services to make a positive difference to people’s lives and communities through a shared love of reading and access to high quality information and facilities. We operate 50 libraries in Devon, the first Fab Lab in a UK public library, and a Business & Intellectual Property Centre in partnership with the British Library.
Key duties include:
- Leading and managing communications and marketing for Libraries Unlimited
- Developing a strategic approach to marketing, digital media, consultation and commissioning of design and print campaigns.
- Building the organisation’s reputation as a provider of high quality library and related services.
- Focusing on ensuring that existing and potential users of libraries in Devon are aware of the full range of services on offer.
Key skills, knowledge and experience required in a candidate are:
- Ideally, sector specific qualification (eg member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations or the Chartered Institute of Marketing) and ideally at least Diploma level or equivalent experience
- Experience of managing external suppliers on a day to day basis
- Experience of marketing, events, campaign and brand development
- Experience of dealing with the media
- Proven experience of targeting and communicating complex messages in appropriate ways to different audiences
