Associate Creative Producer (freelance), Field Art Projects
Associate Creative Producer to work on development and implemention of a public art programme for the Bristol Arena, a new 12,000 capacity entertainment arena commissioned by Bristol City Council. It will be the first time the city has an arena and will make it possible to bring large-scale concerts and indoor sports events to the southwest. The Arena will be a catalyst for the development of Arena Island and the wider area adjacent to Temple Meads railway station in central Bristol.
The role will involve working with artists to develop and implement a dynamic programme which reflects the best of the city, makes links to some of Bristol's key cultural organisations as well as to the residential and business communities in the neighbourhood, stimulates discussion and debate and generates connections locally, nationally and internationally.
Field Art Projects was set up by Theresa Bergne an independent curator and producer. Our work focuses on commissioning artists to work in the public realm and has resulted in a wide range of outcomes from permanent works outside the gallery setting to long-term community engagement projects. We are driven by a desire to create works of a high quality with a strong social purpose.
A fixed fee of £18,000 is offered based on a daily rate of £180 for the period September 2016 to December 2018.
