ARTS ADMINISTRATION INTERNSHIPS


MAY - JULY 2016

Up to 4 internships are being offered in a lively office to help organise one of the largest and most prestigious literature festivals in Britain. This is an exciting opportunity for anybody passionate about the arts, culture, and literature to gain experience in diverse areas within an arts organisation - box office, press and marketing, general organisation in a busy atmosphere leading up to the Ways With Words Festival of Words and Ideas at Dartington Hall and then be part of the team co-ordinating the festival office on-site at Dartington Hall: selling tickets, advising customers, meeting writers etc. during the festival itself (8 - 18 July). We can offer interesting, all-round experience that improves your CV and often leads to jobs within publishing or arts administration.

The internships are full-time (i.e. 5 days a week although a 4–day week could be discussed) and we ask that you are fully available during the 10 days of the festival itself. We pay £7.10 / hour for, on average, about 16 hours work a week and the rest of the time we ask to be done on a voluntary basis. 


We are looking for people who are enthusiastic, reliable, hard working, accurate, have reasonable computer literacy (we work on Apple Macs), and have a good telephone manner.

You will need to be available from Monday 9 May until Monday 18 July inclusive.

Please be aware that this internship is based at the Ways With Words office just outside Dartington, South Devon. Interns are responsible for making sure they have somewhere to stay within a reasonable commuting distance of Dartington.
