Artist in Residence, Somerset County Cricket Club

Somerset County Cricket Club wish to engage an Artist in Residence to work with the club, its staff, players and supporters to research and plan a tangible commission that will enhance the Club’s visibility.

The Club sits at the heart of the local community and with both international men’s and women’s cricket due to be played next year – creating an iconic and engaging art work to celebrate Somerset cricket is central to our aim. The residency is a vital part of the development process designed to help us create a truly inspirational work that captures the imagination of cricket supporters and members of the public.

The creation of drawings/design at the end of the period will be a critical component of engaging funders for the delivery phase of the project and our target would be to raise £40k for the realisation of the work.

We would like the artist/s to begin their residency on 18 July and continue until 28 October, enabling access to the activities of the club, its audiences and players over the cricket season.
