On Saturday 13 April, Bhangra lovers from all across the world will be coming together to celebrate world Bhangra Day at the University of Huddersfield – Oastler Building.
This event will be showcasing an international celebration of the art that is Bhangra through music and dance. There will be live-links of Bhangra performances taking place with dance partners in their respective countries, such as USA, Canada, Mexico, UK, Spain, Dubai, India, Hong Kong, Japan and Australia.
The day will start at 1pm and finish at 3pm with a number of activities throughout the day!
1pm – 2pm – Bhangra workshop to get you warmed up
2pm – Live-link performance of ‘Sarbjit Cheema’s – Rangla Punjab’ with the rest of the team from around the world
2:15pm – 3pm – Bhangra Family Day-Timer!

They will also be exhibiting the ‘Bhangra Renaissance’ exhibition that charts the history of Bhangra and its evolution.
