Virtual Reality Professional Placements: StoryFutures

Boost your career in immersive technology! Receive funding to undertake a professional placement and training programme at one of StoryFutures leading VR creative companies.

Are you an aspiring Designer, Creative Technologist, Animator, Creative Producer, or Sound Designer with a passion for storytelling? Are you interested in gaining and developing immersive creative production skills and experience in Virtual Reality (VR)?

StoryFutures is delighted to announce applications are open for nine professional placements with leading-edge creative companies in the greater London area. Each of these nine companies have been commissioned to produce an R&D VR project which will use and reinterpret some of the UK’s greatest film and television archives from the BFI and the BBC, with the support of academic experts from StoryFutures at Royal Holloway, University of London.

Successful applicants will receive up to £15,000 to work on these commissions within their placement company and be mentored as they gain experience in VR production. You will also receive training around archive and immersive technology from StoryFutures and StoryFutures Academy. The VR experiences you will help produce will be showcased as part of a wider storytelling project about belonging, which will be showcased to the public as part of a national festival celebrating creativity and innovation in 2022.

This opportunity will run from Dec / Jan 2022 – May / June 2022, with a negotiable, hybrid work pattern and location.
