UniBrass presents: Band Camp, Brass Bands England - 25-30 August

UniBrass Presents “Band Camp”, a new exciting playing and social experience for university students, or anyone 18-25 not studying at university. This 5 night residential workshop will be based near Sheffield and musically led by David Thornton (Grimethorpe Brass Band Musical Director and Senior Tutor for Brass Bands at the RNCM). The week will be a blend of music and social activity based, with accommodation in either bunk house or camping accommodation and the price includes half board catering.

This year has been without a “normal” UniBrass contest, so to finish the year with a blast of brass The UniBrass Foundation are presenting a week-long music and social banding experience from 25-30 August, incorporating the bank holiday weekend. The workshop will be musically led by David Thornton (Grimethorpe Brass Band Musical Director and Senior Tutor for Brass Bands at the RNCM) and will include a mix of high-quality music tuition, masterclasses and performance opportunities.

As this is UniBrass there will also be plenty of opportunities both to socialise, and to discover the highlights of Sheffield with planned visits to local sights, nightlife and attractions. There will even be the chance to perform in some too! Evening activities to socialise with friends both new and old will be a prominent feature.

Who is this for?
UniBrass Band Camp is for any brass or percussion players aged 18-25 at the time of the workshop. This includes school leavers about to start university, or those aged 18-25 but not studying at university.

Anyone older than 25 but currently studying in higher education is also welcome to attend.
