UK/Australia Season 2021-22
The British Council is inviting arts organisations and individuals based in the UK to submit project proposals for inclusion in the UK/Australia Season 2021-22.
UK/Australia Season 2021-22
The UK/Australia Season will explore and celebrate the relationship between Australia and the UK across the arts, creative industries, and higher education.
The Season will reflect on both nations shared history and culture, explore our current relationship and imagine our future by bringing together artists, universities, and civil society leaders from both countries to consider the question:
“Who are we now?”
The Season will take place in the UK from August to November 2021, and in Australia from September 2021 to March 2022.
'Who are we now?'
The theme, ‘Who are we now?’, provides a platform to celebrate the best of our arts and cultural life, with points of connection and collaboration around our shared successes
The Season will be a celebration of the diversity of cultures and languages in both countries including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures of Australia and the nations of Wales, Scotland, England and Northern Ireland, as well as the rich societies that have emerged in both the UK and Australia through migration.
It is an opportunity to look at who we might be in the future in the face of global
challenges.
What funding is available?
UK projects to be presented in Australia can bid for up to GBP 25,000 pounds. Grant recipients will be selected by the British Council with a panel of UK sector arts advisors. We intend to support up to 10 projects with small grants. Please note this funding round is not open to individual artists.
