'The Understudy' - A fundraising online play

This is a brand new radio play to support UK theatre.

Based on the bestselling book by David Nicholls, which stars Stephen Fry, Russell Tovey, Sheila Atim, Emily Atack, Sarah Hadland, Mina Anwar and Layton Williams alongside Jake Ferretti, Sasha Frost, Marie Lawrence, James McNicholas, Lizzie Muncey, Robin Simpson and Meredith Stanbury.

The Lawrence Batley Theatre have been working with an incredible sound team, led by Alexandra Faye Braithwaite, and an amazing animation team from Dusthouse, to create what they hope is a really exciting online experience which is animated throughout.

Crucially they are raising money for Acting For Others, the Equity Charitable Trust and The Theatre Development Trust, run by UK Theatre and SOLT, for those individuals and organisations that are suffering so much as a result of Coronavirus. It’s a two-parter, on 20 May and 27 May, it’s just £5 for a ticket (which gets you access to both parts), and you can book tickets at www.understudyplay.com.
