Open Space: Cultural Revitalisation of Huddersfield

Are you interested in taking part in conversations about the Cultural Revitalisation of Huddersfield – how can we build a sustainable, vibrant cultural life for the town?

If you are, come to an Open Space event on 15 July, 10am - 1pm at Huddersfield Art Gallery. Places are limited and must be booked via the Eventbrite link below.

As a cultural, community or business leader; decision maker; influencer; artist; practitioner; thinker; musician; developer; educator; learner; expert in your field; shopper; resident; experience seeker and destination visitor; we would like to invite you to participate and share in an open space conversation and tackle the questions and issues that are important to you, to us, to Huddersfield.

What is Open Space? … it is a simple way to have open conversations and develop a way forward… The Open Space method is a way of bringing together different views and perspectives in a ‘meeting’. It is different in a number of ways, mainly because there is no agenda! It starts with a question and the people in the room look to find solutions from their experiences, knowledge and shared conversations.

The ideas and actions created are owned by everyone through the collaborative process of the Open Space.

Last thing to be aware of, Open Space has Four Rules and One Law (the Law of Two Feet).

The Four Rules state:
1. Whoever comes are the right people
2. Whatever happens is the only thing that could have
3. Whenever it starts it is the right time
4. When it’s over, it’s over ....

... and The Law of Two Feet states that: “If, during the course of the gathering, and person finds themselves in a situation where they are neither learning nor contributing, they must use their feet and go to some more productive place.” You can read more about what Open Space is at http://openspaceworld.org/wp2/what-is
