Interim Technical Manager, The Victoria Theatre

Salary: Scale SO 1 (£28,226)

The Victoria Theatre in Halifax is looking for a highly motivated Interim Technical Manager to lead the technical department for an initial three-month contract, pending advertisement of the full-time post.

The Victoria Theatre is a large receiving house, and the Technical Manager is responsible for overseeing all onstage and backstage operations, as well as building maintenance, health and safety, and is a key role holder in the venue’s ongoing transformation projects.

The Technical Manager has line management responsibilities for a team of full time, part time and casual staff.

Candidates must have a proven track record of managing production teams, a thorough knowledge of delivering all aspects of production, managing venue health and safety and overseeing venue maintenance. The post holder will also be expected to manage budgets and possess a keen understanding of commercialism within a fast-paced theatre environment.

The hours are flexible and are based on a 37-hour working week, which could include some weekend and bank holiday working.
