Hull Jazz Festival: Kickstart Commissions Programme
Calling all jazz musicians, bands, collectives, music creators, artists and creative producers!
Following a successful bid to the DCMS Culture Recovery Fund, Hull Jazz Festival are inviting applications for a series of artist commissions and residencies, to be presented by over the next 2 years.
The Kickstart Commissions are all about looking forward to more positive times: they want them to be artist-led, high-quality, ground-breaking, Hull and the North focused, celebratory and championing artists from all backgrounds.
Hull Jazz Festival want to support music creators, artists and producers to create new work, inspired by Hull and the North’s sense of place, that brings meaningful, joyful experiences to audiences.
If you’ve got an idea for a great new project Hull Jazz Festival want to hear from you!
They are looking for projects that explore stories that define a sense of place and that embody the spirit of jazz and improvised music as forward-facing music that’s continually evolving.
What is on offer?
Hull Jazz Festival can contribute between £700 and £4,000, depending on project needs, as well as mentoring, practical support and guidance and a premiere performance at an official HJF event.
The successful commissions and residencies will be ready for performance between July 2021 through until July 2023.
