Description
Make It York, along with partners, is committed to putting on a horticultural celebration in the city to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Ancient Society of York Florists. A new festival is planned for July 5th- 8th 2018 and it has been given the brand name of “Bloom!”.

The contract is for a freelance fixed term of 10 months: mid-September 2017 to mid-July 2018 with the expectation that 35 weeks will be devoted to it.

Core Responsibilities include:
•Fund-raising and bid writing to secure investment for the festival
•Working with existing coalition partners to create content for the festival
•Finding new partners to get involved and building the programme of events and activities
•Dealing with all health and safety aspects of the festival
•Pulling the content together to create a festival programme
•Maximising the PR coverage of the festival
•Build a marketing plan to promote the festival
•Securing partnerships and building relationships with other organisations who can help promote and support the festival e.g. the RHS
•Managing a budget for the festival
•Finding sponsorship for the festival
•Engaging as many York businesses as possible in the festival e.g. florists, garden centres, garden designers etc.
•Working with the Make It York team to maximise the success of the festival
