Leeds 2023 are looking for a Director of Finance & Operations to be instrumental in developing the organisational and operational capacity it needs and raising the funds required to deliver LEEDS 2023.

Salary: £70-80,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

2023 will be a transformational year like no other. 12 signature events and a multitude of creative experiences are happening all over our city. From dance to design, art to architecture, poetry to pop, sculpture to sport, grassroots community theatre to performances on our world-class stages, there’s something for everyone, no matter where you live or what you like.

Purpose of the role:

Develop, implement, and manage the sustainability action plan covering all LEEDS 2023 activity.
Work with project delivery teams to ensure sustainability best practice is achieved.
Work with the Head of Production to produce impact assessments where required.

Key Responsibilities:

Working with the Director of Production and Head of Production to setup and manage the sustainability action plan that will be applied to LEEDS 2023 activity.
Work across LEEDS 2023 teams to advise on our structures and decision-making processes ensuring sustainability is imbedded throughout.
Work with project delivery teams from the planning phase to ensure best practice in sustainability is achieved.
Advise on and scope out sustainable solutions to project delivery, including transport, power systems, materials amongst other areas.
Develop and manage processes for impact assessments and work with the Head of Production to produce them where required on projects.
Monitor project delivery and produce detailed reports to the Director of Production on the implementation of the sustainability action plan.
Scope out potential new suppliers and partners that share our sustainable values.
 Work with the Director of Production and Head of Production on the appointment of suppliers to ensure sustainability is a key factor in appointments.
Represent LEEDS 2023 at relevant events, meetings and conferences as required.
Work with the Executive Producer to ensure LEEDS 2023’s Sustainable Action Plan and resulting tools can be a lasting legacy for the city via networks such as Sustainable Arts in Leeds and LEEDS 2023’s relationship with the Leeds Climate Commission.
