Dewsbury Creative Town Arts Plan - get involved
Volunteers are invited to get involved with bringing public art to Dewsbury’s Town Centre as part of the Creative Town Arts Programme. The Creative Town Arts Plan is an integral part of Kirklees Council's 10 year blueprint vision for the town.
The plan, written by Creative Scene, shows how the town centre could benefit from public art and how local residents, businesses and community groups could get involved in the commissioning process.
Arts organisation, Beam, have been commissioned to move the programme forward over the next three years with a variety of permanent and temporary artwork installations in the town. Beam want to engage with the local community in the delivery of the plan from the outset and have a number of ways for Dewsbury organisations, businesses, artists & creatives and individuals to get involved.
Steering Group:
Beam want to hear from representatives of local organisations and businesses who would like to apply to be part of the Creative Town Arts Steering Group (up to 6 places are available). Read more on their website below - note deadline for the Steering Group application is Friday 13th November, 10am.
Artists, creatives and community groups:
In addition, Beam would like to hear from artists, creatives or community groups based in Kirklees or with a strong connection to the borough to express interest in future opportunities over the next 3 years so they can keep you informed.
General information:
If you’d just like to be kept informed about the programme you can sign up to their mailing list.
More information about how to get involved or how to sign up to the mailing list go to the Beam website.
