Business Developoment Manager - Mooncas

Mooncas organises high quality, useful and relevant sector specific conferences across Yorkshire. There are currently 3 conferences in place; Manufactured Yorkshire, Educated Yorkshire and Tech Yorkshire. The company currently employs 3 people and has just entered into year 2 of trading; there is an ambitious 4-year growth plan in place. Mooncas sets itself aside in the market by ensuring that everything we deliver is excellent. Nothing less will do.

We are looking for somebody to join the team in the New Year to help to drive our plan forward. The role is sales oriented and involves building new Mooncas conferences into quality, recognised and reputable brands. The right person for this role will be highly organised with a keen attention to detail and an extremely good listener. Building a conference from scratch takes initiative, self development, tenacity, determination, good planning, gentle assertiveness, enthusiasm, confidence, excellent negotiation skills, patience, calm and the ability to manage multiple partnerships. Each conference is a mini business in its own right and every aspect needs to be fed and nurtured. The main aspect is the revenue so event management skills on their own will not be sufficient for this role. Identifying and attending relevant events is another essential part so the role is a mixture of office and field based - own transport is absolutely essential. This is a full time role - the hours can be varied and there may be the occasional overnight stay required when attending events outside Yorkshire. Basic salary starts at £15k - £18k dependant on experience. OTE £30k to £35k - there is no cap on commission.
