Arts in the Neighbourhood Awards - November 2014
Kirklees Creative Economy Team’s Arts in the Neighbourhood Scheme has recently awarded almost £10,500 in its second round of funding to neighbourhood arts schemes across the district.
The Scheme has again boosted a wide range of groups in its funding allocations, including:
• Berry Brow Carnival Committee for the 2015 Berry Brow Carnival
• Creative Arts Hub CIC in Mirfield who are developing their children’s activity programme and putting on a Children’s Art Show
• Curtain Up Players, who will put on a Pantomime performance for the Kirklees Older People’s Network
• Fair and Funky CIC, for interactive art workshops at their Fairtrade Conference for Schools across Kirklees
• The 2015 Huddersfield Literature Festival
• The 2015 Holmfirth Festival of Folk
• Moldgreen URC 20-40@Moldgreen who are running a community drama project and play for all the community telling the story of Castle Hill
• Netherton Community Centre who are holding Art School workshops for young people during school holidays
• TAP (Textiles Art Photography) into Art Education who are running photography workshops in Batley.
The Arts in the Neighbourhood scheme offers grants of between £150 and £2,000 as a contribution to arts and cultural projects which benefit and involve Kirklees residents and the third and final round of funding is now available to local community and voluntary groups who are planning arts and cultural projects.For more information about Arts in the Neighbourhood, please visit www.kirklees.gov.uk/ain
