Arts in the Neighbourhood Awards 2015/16 Round 1
The Arts in the Neighbourhood Scheme, run by the Kirklees Creative Economy Team has awarded £10,000 in its first round of funding in 2015/16.
The following 6 local organisations have received a contribution to their arts and creative projects:
• Holme Valley Sharing Memories for “Reflections”, a multi arts project for children and adults with learning disabilities.
• Callaloo Carnival Arts as a contribution to the Mirfield Muertos Festival.
• The Children’s Art School for “Ebb and Flow”, a multi arts project for children and young people in the Holme Valley.
• Huddersfield Community Gospel Choir for “Let’s Sing Gospel”, a project to encourage young members and the formation of a youth choir.
• Building African Caribbean Communities, for the Black History Month Celebration Showcase.
• Meltham Community Trust for a project called “Urban Art”, running art sessions for young people
The Arts in the Neighbourhood scheme offers grants between £150 and £2,000 as a contribution to arts and cultural projects which benefit and involve Kirklees residents. The deadline for the next round of funding applications is 30 September 2015 (for projects taking place from 1 December onwards).
