Artist Call Out - Radiotherapy Project - Manchester
Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation are inviting expressions of interest from experienced visual /digital artists to work with them to raise awareness of radiotherapy and health research. This project will be based in Greater Manchester (predominantly Oldham).
The selected artist/s will work closely with the project team and collaborate with people with lived experience of radiotherapy, researchers and community groups to produce artwork for public events and/or other settings (Feb-March 2019).
This is part of a wider initiative to provide creative opportunities for people with experience of health conditions, generate public interest in health and research and provide a legacy that supports ongoing public engagement in health research.
Artist criteria Art degree with five year’s post-degree experience
Experience of engaging non-artists in collaborative creative process, resulting in high-quality outcomes.
Experience of co-production using a place-based approach in different community settings Experience of working inclusively with sensitive topics and vulnerable groups.
An interest in connections between lived experience, health research, science and technology Willingness to document working processes through photography & video
Available to deliver project Nov 2018 - March 2019 Ideally based in North West of England as this will involve spending time in project location.
Key considerations
Expressions of interest will be considered from individual artists, artists working together & art organisations
They anticipate artist/s will use their own workspace
They have funding in place to deliver this project
