Creative Arts Hub open weekend schedule announced!
There’ll be loads to see and do at our upcoming open weekend, on 13th & 14th September (10am to 4pm each day). Here’s what we have planned so far:
Demonstrations of weaving technique with Juko Designs (Sat & Sun)
Try out weaving on a loom with handweaver Janet Clark (Sat & Sun)
Demonstrations of vector artwork using Manga Studio software, with artist Ian Clegg Walsh (Sat & Sun)
Leatherwork demonstrations by Andrew Stone of Orchard & Black Bespoke Leather (Sat & Sun)
Learn how to create a fabric flower with costumier Deborah Lough (Saturday only)
For younger artists:
Painting and sculpture open studios, create a movie-inspired masterpiece with artist Mark Milnes (Sat & Sun)
‘Mini Movie Makers’ – create your own short film and see it play in our specially created mini-cinema! With artist Murray Forrest (Saturday only)
Popcorn sculpture: make a model from your favourite cinema snack, to take home (and eat later!) With artist Murray Forrest (Sunday only)
An exhibition of artwork by Creative Arts Hub studio holders, including jewellery, costume, painting, sculpture, textiles, printmaking and more – by artists Richard Yeomans, Paul Graham, Ian Clegg Walsh, Amy Cooper, Debbie Lough, Mark Milnes, Murray Forrest, Nest Photography, Kay Dawson, Orchard & Black, Juko Designs and Janet Clark. Also, special displays of carnival arts by Dewsbury/Mirfield based Callaloo Carnival Arts, and photographs of the cinema including recent work on the building undertaken by Creative Arts Hub.
