My work originates from a desire to explore alternative treatments of a subject; the application of unusual textural finishes and colour-rich bursts are an important part of that equation. Many hours of consideration before paint touches the canvas allow for the notional working and reworking of ideas with a wish that the rhythm, cycle, sequence and boldness converge to meet in a very personal comment on a subject. Elements which trigger the imagination allow expression of qualities within a subject and therefore bring infinite possibilities. For me art is the joy of a life with imagination.
