Callaloo Lost Creatures Mas found at Vibe Alive - 16th July 2022

Callaloo Carnival Arts’ ‘Lost Creatures’ Tour continued on Saturday 16th July, with an appearance at Vibe Alive - a free, family-friendly Caribbean-themed event at Greenhead Park. The Vibe Alive event was organised by Huddersfield Carnival Management Committee, with the aim of ‘keeping the Vibe Alive’ - in lieu of an actual Carnival.
Kirklees Council Events Team provided financial and infrastructure support for the event, which attracted a large, enthusiastic crowd. The event certainly brought Carnival Vibes to Huddersfield, with live music from London-based Soca Artistes, ‘One the Band’, as well as sweet steel pan sounds from Leeds own 'New World Steel Orchestra’ and a great live set from Huddersfield Parang Band - featuring many well known local Carnivalists!
All in all a great day out for Carnival enthusiasts - huge congratulations to the event Team and all the performers - fingers crossed for an actual Carnival next year!
