Brixham Folk Club presents Geoff Lakeman in concert supported
by “Doxies” in the Theatre Studio.
Geoff Lakeman is an internationally recognised leading exponent
of the rare Crane Duet Concertina. He performs self-penned
songs, English, Irish and Scottish folk and other music as varied
as Jimmie Rodgers, Randy Newman, Richard Thompson, and
1920/30’s jazz standards.
“Doxies” – Three lovely ladies from Looe and Lostwithiel forming
a mutual friendship and a love for the wonderful songs of the sea
and the land. Kate Ward and Steph Althaus were joined by the
talented Jo Ballard just six months ago, extending the heartfelt
approach they have to their songs, adding a creative and
feminine touch to the delivery of the music they love.... and a
quirky humorous edge to their performance, to boot!
