Internationally acknowledged artist Olivier Grossetete will be coming to Torquay in July to build a cardboard replica of The Harbour Clock Tower in Fleet Walk. This is subject to an Arts Council grant application being successful.
We need two artists with experience of working with young volunteers to be group leaders and help make the 1000 cardboard bricks needed to construct the People's Tower. This will be from 23rd July to 27th July. The actual building of the replica Clocktower will take place on Sat 27th July together with a large street show of entertainers and bands in Fleet Walk, Union St and the Harbour. The tower will be up to 20 metres high and is a participatory event with you, the volunteers and members of the public all helping together to create a large and impressive structure.
