In Conversation: Joe Hill, Director of Towner Art Gallery
Towner Art Gallery, long term host and partner of Blue Monkey Network, has a new Director, Joe Hill. Originally trained as an artist, Joe was previously Director of Focal Point Gallery in Southend-on-Sea from 2013 until taking up his post at Towner in March this year. During his time at Focal Point, the organisation was described by the Evening Standard as ‘one of the most vital galleries in the UK’, and by The Guardian as ‘a ground-breaking gallery’.
We’re very excited to welcome Joe to Eastbourne and are thrilled that he is keen to come along and meet artists at our Blue Monkey Network event in April.
Joe will be in conversation with Judith Alder and we’ll be hoping to hear more about some of his ideas, plans and aspirations for Towner and the wider community in East Sussex, as well as some of the inspiring projects Joe implemented in Essex. There will also be an opportunity for you to join in the conversation and put your questions to Joe.
6-8pm Blue Monkey members FREE. Non-members £5
Some refreshments will be available but please feel free to bring a bottle (BYOB). As we're supporting the movement to reduce single use plastics we are no longer offering plastic cups so please bring your own drinking vessel.
