'Creative Kirklees' Art and Craft Fair - call for entries
DEADLINE EXTENDED TO 31st OCTOBER
We will be holding an art & craft fair at Huddersfield Art Gallery during the Festival of Light 2014, and are now looking for submissions from Kirklees-based artists and makers.
Running from 11am to 3.30pm on 29th November, the fair will offer a chance to engage with some of the visitors to the lively and vibrant event that is 'Festival of Light', and hopefully make some sales too!
The cost of a stand is £25, for a 6ft by 2ft table space. There are 10 stands available. Applications which respond to the 'Festival of Light' theme will be prioritised (i.e. work which involves light as a material, or as subject). The deadline for submissions is Friday 31st October; artists wishing to take part need to send a brief statement and up to 6 jpegs to Mark Milnes, Galleries Manager, at mark.milnes@kirklees.gov.uk. Artists will be notified of our decisions one week from the application deadline.
Please note, this is an opportunity for Kirklees-based artists only, and you will need to be registered on the Creative Kirklees website (www.creativekirklees.com) in order to participate. Registration is free and offers you access to a weekly newsletter packed with opportunities and exhibition info; it also enables you promote your work through the website to a wide audience. Email arts.creativity@kirklees.gov.uk if you need any assistance in registering on Creative Kirklees.
We are also seeking applicants for a January Art Sale at the gallery on Saturday 10th January 2015, and a Spring Fair on Saturday 14th March 2015 - please get in touch if these opportunities are of interest to you.
