There is another opportunity to take a peep behind the scenes at Bagshaw Museum in Batley on Sunday, 1 July.
Free guided tours of the stunning Victorian Gothic building will take place at 1pm and 2.30pm.
As well as learning more about the house that was built as a family home by mill owner Gorge Sheard in 1875, it will be a chance to see areas not normally open to the public.
‘The Woodlands’, as it was then known, was acquired for a nominal sum by Batley Town Council following George Sheard’s death in 1902.
Local councillor and businessman Walter Bagshaw, after whom the museum is named, converted the building into a museum which opened in 1911.
The tours last approximately 45minutes. For further information please contact Bagshaw Museum, Wilton Park, Batley, tel: 01924 324765.
Further monthly tours are scheduled for Sundays 5 August, 9 September, 7 October, 4 November and 2 December.
