Artizan Gallery . Cafe . Venue
Artizan is an independent, fine art gallery situated on the English Riviera's stunning coastline dedicated to celebrating the work of South Devon artists and championing the contemporary artistic talent as well as the established cultural heritage that marks the resort as a destination for UK arts.
Positioned in historic Lucius Street, just a short walk from the main seafront, the gallery was the former home and studio of Alexander Fisher who founded the Artisan Arts Society in the late 18th Century. Today, we offer a rolling programme of exhibitions throughout the year, showcasing an array of emerging and professional artists practicing a broad spectrum of traditional and contemporary styles.
Artizan Gallery also represents the English Riviera UNESCO Global Geopark Ambassador Artists, an accredited group of professional creatives whose ties the heritage and culture recognised by the UNESCO designation directly back to the geological significance of our coastal region. This work sits alongside two permanent collections of South West masters, Richard Slater R.I. and the late Arthur Homeshaw RWA.
With a small café gallery and sunny courtyard at the rear of the venue serving a range of hot, cold and alcoholic drinks, as well as being a short walk away from the seafront and historic Torre Abbey, this is the ideal destination for art lovers to be inspired when visiting the English Riviera.
Full details of the rolling programme of exhibitions and events can be found on the Gallery’s websites and across their social media platforms, where they also publish regular artist interviews, exhibition albums and local culture updates.
All collections are available to view and purchase online so audiences can plan their visits in our virtual galleries prior to their trip.
Private morning viewings can also be booked Tuesday-Friday at no charge.
