News Editor & Researcher Vacancy
Art Noise is looking for a keen News Editor and Researcher to assist the editorial process and help with the delivery of the Art Noise Zines. The right candidate will be also member of Art Noise Collective.
Working closely with the Art Noise curator, the purpose of the role is to assist and provide online and offline editorial contents. You will be responsible for delivering the style, content and design as well as assisting with the research and day-to-day campaign functions.
The News Editor will also be expected to be involved in the preparation for the zines's production.
Expected hours
Two to four hours per week approximately, on a voluntary basis. This includes at least one editorial meeting every two weeks and regular communication with the Curator.
About the role
The News Editor & Researcher will be expected to:
– To communicate clearly and co-ordinate the workload along with the Curator and be available to take on responsibilities of the whole editorial content.
– To assist the Graphic Designer in helping integrate editorial sections and to ensure that each section of copy, columns, features are professionally delivered.
– To ensure that all the editorial content and copies are of a high grammatical and syntactical quality.
– To research and reflect upon other resources, news feeds and websites.
- To update the blog once a week, and support with the monthly newsletter, along with the Art Noise Curator.
- To write copy for and develop marketing materials such as flyers and posters for Art Noise projects, along with the Art Noise Curator
Person Specification:
– Literacy in Microsoft Word (or Pages, if working on Mac OS), blogs and social media (Facebook / Twitter).
– An open-minded individual with an interest in Journalism.
– Excellent communicator both verbally and written with the ability to think creatively.
– Ideally, the News Editor is a student or a recently graduated individual with excellent grammar and punctuation skills.
