Excavating the bog pantry
Carrying tools and trugs the party made their way over the stepping stones at Hexworthy not knowing what they would find. Following written instructions they successfully located the site and set about excavating. The site was boggy and when they had removed the turf they faced a watery hole in the myre.
The ecologist in the party Christian Taylor of Beanleigh Meadows Farm volunteered to reach into the pit and fished out the last of the bundles, which were taken to Haldon Forest Park for examination !
