Freelance Ceramicist/Potter

The Clay Mill is seeking a freelance potter to assist in running workshops, teach beginners classes and family experiences. The role involves teaching mostly throwing, some hand-building, and glazing to beginners as we begin to open up to classes in the coming months.

Initially it will be a freelance sessional basis and with very small groups. The Clay Mill was very busy before lockdown and enquiries are already coming in so we anticipate that this will be the case again. Because we can only offer limited hours currently, we can be flexible around other work you may have. This is a unique role in a creative family run business with room to grow, for someone who loves to welcome new people to pottery and share clay skills.
Key skills, fun, enthusiasm, quality clay craft and the ability to rescue a collapsing pot if needed.
