Torbay Film Club Torbay Film Club
Torbay Film Club is a not-for-profit group run by volunteers who are passionate about film and want to see the finest independent and world cinema in Torbay.
Films are shown on a monthly basis and are open to members and non-members. We’re keen to make the screenings as sociable as possible, so before and after the film is shown there is an opportunity to have a drink, pre-booked meal and a chat about the film, whether you come on your own or with friends.
The films we screen are voted for democratically by our members and we’ve made sure the season has a mixture of English language and subtitled films, with at least one ‘classic’ (pre- 1985) film and an intriguing documentary such as, 'Man on Wire'. We also usually include an evening of short films from South-West film makers and organise bespoke events, collaborating with local organisations such as the Princess Theatre, The Apollo Cinema, The Palace Theatre and Torre Abbey.
We give up our freetime to run the club and the support of our members ensures we can continue offering our amazing programme of international films.
