South Devon College is a Further Education College that caters for a wide variety of learner from all over the South West. The College was given an overall Outstanding (Grade 1) rating by OFSTED in January 2009. They were also given 'Beacon status' by the Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS).

South Devon College’s inspiring award-winning site at Vantage Point includes a brand new £8million University Centre, a 200 square metre student common room; a purpose built Theatre; Gym and fitness suite; Music Technology Centre; Fantastic Motor Vehicle Centre; Electrical Installation workshop; Fully equipped Hair and Beauty Salons; a specialised Business Centre; Fine Dining Restaurant and many different cafés. South Devon College has announced £16million expansion plans for its Paignton headquarters. The main features include a totally green purpose-built Land Based Studies Building; a four-storey Higher Education centre with a remarkable rooftop ‘Sky Restaurant’; a two-storey Sports Coaching Centre; a music technology and dance studio; a brand new engineering workshop and an electrical installation workshop.

There are hundreds of courses on offer including our popular College Academies, which include: The Academy of Contemporary Music & Sound; The Street Theatre Company (for Performing Arts); The Academy of Arts; Football, Tennis, Basketball and Golf Academies and our newest recruit, the South Devon College Noss Marine Academy. Based at Noss Marina on the River Dart, it is designed to be a centre of excellence for water based outdoor education and training, including Marine Engineering.

Existing courses at South Devon College continue to grow, with pass rates and high grades at an all-time high for GCSE, A-level, Foundation Degree and Vocational courses. Students can benefit from the flexibility of courses on offer with many different full-time, part-time and short courses available in a variety of subjects.

South Devon College offer many different Foundation Degree courses in partnership with the University of Plymouth, including Integrated Crafts, Interior Design, and Visual Studies. These courses can also be progressed onto through South Devon College via many different routes, from GCSE’s to A-levels, with Vocational Courses, or even with our Access to Higher Education Course.
